Dye sublimation is the process of permanently transferring a digitally generated image “into” the fibers of polyester-based fabric. This is accomplished through careful manipulation of heat, pressure and transfer time. Artwork GuidelinesLaarhoven Design Graphics Submission Information
To upload artwork, please fill out the Graphics Submission Form at: www.ldigraphics.comFilling out the Graphics Submission Form at ldigraphics.com:
- Submits artwork.
- Sends confirmation of artwork uploaded.
- Matches uploaded artwork to a sales order.
- Clarifies finishing options.
- Requests proofs if necessary.
- Defines any color matching.

Acceptable File FormatsIllustrator CS4 or belowPhotoshop CS4 or below InDesign CS4 or below (not preferred) Indesign, like QuarkXpress, is intended for page layouts, catalogs and brochures, NOT LARGE FORMAT PRINTING Photoshop and Illustrator files are preferred, as they are more suitable applications for large format printing. Art time will be charged if files need to be fixed or altered to meet guidelines. When sending files, please be sure to include all support art (fonts, linked images, etc.) Please note that Illustrator special effects such as glows, transparencies, or drop shadows are not recommended. These effects sometimes have unpredictable results when printing in our system. Photoshop is preferred when using these special effects. Unacceptable File FormatsFreehand, QuarkXPress, PageMaker, CorelDraw, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, PublisherDue to many factors including Adobe’s position as an industry leader and an industry standard, their purchase of Macromedia, as well as the creation of their page layout software InDesign, we can no longer accept file formats created with these applications because of conversion issues and conversion time and upgrading costs. Please convert and/or recreate any files created with these applications using Photoshop or Illustrator Creative Suite version 1, 2, 3, or 4. Compression ProgramsStuffit & Zipit (.sit, .zip)ResolutionAll raster files (either print files or linked files) must be at 100-120 pixels per inch when scaled at 100%. |
Font SpecificationsFonts must be converted to outlines. If fonts are not created to outlines, please provide Macintosh or TruType fonts. If changes need to be made in the file, please provide the fonts and a version of the file with editable type.Color SpecificationsAll files are printed as CMYK format. Please send files with a CMYK build. Please provide a PDF layout or hard copy proof of the files being printed.If Pantone colors need to be matched please specify on purchase order or hard copy proof. All critical Pantone colors need to be called out in the file as Coated Swatches. If color matching is required for Photoshop files please provide a layered file. Art time may be charged to correct flattened Photoshop files. Orders without indication of Pantone colors, supplied proofs or requested hard copy proofs are NOT guaranteed for color. Submitting Artwork FilesFiles are accepted by Email (up to 7MB), FTP site (up to 2G), DVD, CD and USB Flash Drives.Files can be uploaded at www.ldigraphics.com Murals | Popup GraphicsMural files must be built as one file. Please note where panel breaks are located and try to minimize the amount of type that crosses over the panel breaks.Bleed SpecificationsAll graphics produced require specific bleeds. Please read the information above carefully. Failure to provide art properly will result in extra design charges.
Please be sure that the provided art has been:
- Proofread for typographical errors
- Reviewed for dirt, scratches, and glitches in images
- Created according to the above specifications
- Converted to cmyk color mode
- Accompanied by a color pdf proof with PMS call outs if necessary
- Set up according to our templates
Art not supplied according to these specifications may result in production delays and incur additional charges. Laarhoven Design will not be held liable for final output of sub-standard graphics submitted by external sources.
